About Counselling

Why come to Counselling?

Although there are often many people we can turn to, there are also times when we also feel we have no one to turn to and we feel so alone.  By seeking some additional support with someone who isn’t connected, can allow you to have the time and space you need to explore those feelings in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

Sometimes by having someone to support you as you make that journey, or even an opportunity just to be listened to, can often be all that you need to help you make sense of your own situation, your own personal feelings and thoughts, and in certain situations, an opportunity to potentially see things from a different perspective.

Todays society and life itself can be somewhat challenging and with the stresses and strains of what life can sometimes throw at us, Counselling gives you that opportunity to help you cope more effectively and allow you to begin to make simple changes and different choices that are right for you.

What is a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor?

Psychotherapeutic Counselling uses psychological ways, particularly when based on regular personal interaction with adults, so that it can help ann individual to overcome their own personal problems and change their behaviour in a desired way.

It’s aim is to enhance a person’ mental health and wellbeing, by mitigating troublesome behaviours, compulsions or belief’s thoughts or their emotions by resolving and improving relationships and social skills.

Most sessions involve a one to one session between a client and a therapist.
